Thanks to the funds raised through the "Big Heart" affinity MasterCard, a restored playground of the "Veverica" kindergarten within the "Dečija radost" kindergarten institution has opened in Pančevo. The restored playground is the fourth playground renovated within the "Big Heart" project, jointly implemented by Eurobank EFG and the Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac and similarly to the previously renovated playgrounds, it has been
“At the beginning of the “Big Heart” project our idea was to give an opportunity to disabled children to acquire basic skills for future sports activities, to become keen on outdoor activities and spend as much time as possible outdoors and enjoy fresh air “, said Vlade Divac at the opening ceremony, while Nataša Strugarević, member of the Executive Board of Eurobank EFG addressed all present at the ceremony: “Our objective is to invest into the community where we work through socially oriented projects as well as to offer our help wherever it is needed the most. The “Big Heart” initiative is a project that we are very proud of because we have been given an opportunity to help children grow up in a more agreeable and healthier environment”, said Ms. Strugarević.
Eurobank EFG and the Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac launched the “Big Heart” affinity card program under auspices of the Serbian Ministry of Education in February 2010. By using this unique MasterCard credit card, the Bank’s clients have an opportunity to support the reconstruction of playgrounds in public kindergartens throughout Serbia with no additional costs. So far three playgrounds have been renovated with donations raised through this card – a new playground for children was provided for the kindergartens “Suncica” in Belgrade, “Palcica” in Nis and the restored playground of “Leptiric” kindergarten in Nova Pazova opened its doors in March this year.
With every transaction on the “Big Heart” credit card (including direct sales and cash withdrawals) Eurobank and the Foundation allocate 1% of total value of the transaction and 50% of monthly account maintenance fees to the “Big Heart” project and the reconstruction of public kindergarten playgrounds in Serbia. The clients of Eurobank EFG who opt for a “Big Heart” MasterCard will not bear any additional costs and may use it as any other standard credit card, which implies payments in 3, 6, 9 and 12 equal monthly installments free of interest. The more the clients use the “Big Heart” credit card, the more they support a better future for the children in Serbia.
