The municipality of Nova Varoš is one of the five municipalities that, with the support of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, will work on social mapping in order to collect data on the needs of citizens from the most vulnerable categories.
Through the inclusion of vulerable groups in planning processes, we contribute to strengthening social inclusion and promoting social cohesion at the local level, we support the main goald of the Agenda 2030and the principle relation to achieving equality, which is that no one is left behind.
“In the previous period, a similar process was carried out in Zaječar, Novi Sad and Smederevo, which resulted in the results obtained from the research being included in the planning of support services for the most vulerable groups and the preparation of local planning documents. We have a long-term cooperation with the municipality of Nova Varoš in various fields and we are glad that this municipality joined the social mapping program,” said Ivona Gvozdenović, project manager at the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, during the singing of the memorandum of understanding.
In addition to Nova Varoš, social mapping will also be carries out in the municipalities of Sombor, Apatin, Zrenjanin and Arilje throughout 2024.
Improving the process of local planning through social mapping in these five municipalities is part of the activities of the Platform “Sustainable Development for All” supported by the governments of Switzerland and Germany, and implemented by GIZ as part of the “Reform of Public Finances - Agenda 2030” project.
