On 21.12.2023 contracts were signed with 17 informal youth groups from Obrenovac that will be supported within the Youth Funds project.
All the projects that were selected in the call have a positive effect on improving the lives of young people in the most diverse areas: culture, education, sports, health and safety. A large number of projects from rural areas were also supported, and they will have the opportunity to improve the lives of young people in their community in the coming months by renovating spaces for young people, arranging sports fields and organizing events.
The total value of supported young projects in Obrenovac is 1.225.715 dinars, of which the city of Obrenovac allocated 400.000 dinars
The projects that were going to be supported were decided on by the youth from Obrenovac, who have the role of the Committee for announcing open calls and making decisions on financing projects of informal groups of young people from the territory of that city. The Youth Funds project is implemented with the aim of increasing the participation of young people in the processes of local development through the allocation of non-reimbursable funds to projects initiated and led by young people themselves.
As part of the German development cooperation project “Perspectives for Young People in Rural Areas in Serbia”, implemented by GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, youth funds are supported in selected communities: Obrenovac, Prokuplje, Zaječar, Vlasotince and Vladičin Han. During the previous supported cylce, a total of 63 youth project from these five local governments were supported.
