Humanitarian Initiative with JKP Infostan
A joint initiative of the Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac and the Public Utility Services JKP Infostan was carried out in April 2009 with an objective to raise funds for permanent housing solution for refugees and internally displaced persons from Collective Centers.
This initiative implied donations of Belgrade residents through donation slips distributed together with JKP Infostan utility bills. The entire profit was directed towards permanent housing solutions for refugees and internally displaced persons still living in collective centers. The initiative has been recognized and supported by leading media and definitely by Belgrade residents who donated significant funds to the cause. 16,282 persons from Belgrade donated 4,529,278.42 dinars to the Foundation’s bank account. All raised funds were used for purchasing village houses for five refugee families living in collective centers in Serbia.
Thanks to this initiative the family of six of Mihajlo Zaric moved from a collective center into their own house in Mramorak, Kovin municipality. Three generations of Boban Milic’s family, displaced from Kosovo in 1999, received a house in the village of Golobog, municipality Smederevska Palanka, while the family of Slađana Korolija, a Croatian refugee, received a house in the village of Mramorak, municipality of Smederevska Palanka. This initiative also helped the Naziri family, displaced from Kosovo, to fulfill their wish to remain in the region of Zajecar where they were given a house in the village of Veliki Izvor. The family of Ljubomir Zdravković, also displaced from Kosovo, now also live under their own roof in the village of Crkvenac, municipality Svilajnac.
Humanitarian Initiative with JKP Informatika
One of the initiatives included in the “You Can Too” campaign is the initiative launched in cooperation with the Public Utility Services JKP Informatika Novi Sad. This initiative implied donations of residents of Novi Sad through donation slips distributed together with JKP Informatika utility. All funds collected from donations were used for permanent housing solution of one refugee family.
Residents of Novi Sad donated amount of 788,296 dinars. These funds were used to solve housing problem for the Rodić family, a brother and sister refugees from Sarajevo since1992. A house in the village of Krčedin, Inđija municipality, was provided for them out of the funds raised through donations from Novi Sad residents. The Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac together with Unidea UniCredit foundation also provided assistance for the Rodic family which enabled them to start income generating activity - a greenhouse for vegetables, through RAISE project.
Humanitarian Initiative with JKP Objedinjena Naplata
A humanitarian initiative in cooperation with JKP Objedinjena Naplata Niš was carried out in November 2009, when the October utility bills of the unified utility services were distributed together with payment slips from the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation (HOD).The citizens of Niš also contributed with donations for the “You Can Too” campaign. A total amount of 100,000 dinars was raised thanks to these donations.
