In the Assembly of the City of Kragujevac a round table “Single mothers and the labor market in Kragujevac” was held today. This is the first in a series of round tables that the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation in partnership with the Jelek Association organized within the scope of the project “Strengthening human rights and economic empowerment of single mothers in Serbia" aiming to draw the attention of the public, especially on the local level, the status of single parents, their social and economic status, as well as for them to identify the opportunities for improving their status.
Gordana Damnjanović, a member of the City Council for Health and Social Matters, Ivona Gvozdenović, coordinator of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation project, Ana Jovanović, President of the Jelek Association, Marija Ristić from the Department for further education and training of the National Employment Service and Daliborka Smolović, one of the 10 single mothers, receiver of the self-employment grant within the Project, discussed the status of single parents/mothers and their families in Kragujevac, the protection of their rights and the availability of the program for economic strengthening.
