The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation is implementing the project Enhancing solidarity efforts in response to COVID-19 outbreak in Serbia in order to contribute to the community response and civic solidarity in times of Coronavirus crises in Serbia. Selected through the open call, five CSOs are provided with grants for continued provision of local services to the most vulnerable groups (elderly, young people with disabilities, children without parental care, etc), along with seven local grassroots organizations that will provide volunteering services for citizens, promote importance of mental health, sew and deliver free mask, or make kids toys for disadvantaged children. In addition, three media (web portal, newspapers and a radio station) were also selected in support of accurate information flow, and outreach to the citizens.
Over 200 CSOs, media and informal groups applied for the grants, which speaks of the great needs for support, but also illustrate creativity and mobility of the civil society sector in Serbia.
Selected projects will be implemented by the end of July 2020.
